Christmas

Every year we hear of what stores allow and dont allow their employees to say at christmas time. We hear of what the Government allows and dosnt allow as a display on their property. If we as believers would have the joy and love in our hearts that Jesus wants us to have  and freely gives us then we need'nt concern ourselves on what others allow or dont allow.  Wish evryone you meet a merry christmas and treat them with love, maby the other way around, treat them with love and kindness with a smile, let them know you appreciate their help, then wish them a Merry Christmas.
If all of us had a christmas message, no matter how big or small, on our front lawn there would not be a need for a display  in a park or courthouse or any other public place, the message would be all over  town, praise God.

May God bless each of you this Christmas season, I love you.

your walk

I just was listening to some songs that reminded me of what God wants from us. The songs talk about  knowing Him more and walking with Him. The way we conduct our daily lives is what speaks loud and clear to our fellow workers, our neighbors, people we pass in stores, motorists on the highway, you get the idea. We need not preach the bible to them in order to  be a good witness for our Lord and Savior.

Micah 6:8  He has showed thee, O man, what is good and what
doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

We as believers need to show the world Jesus Christ with our life. I like to say we need to translate the Bible to them in a language they understand. Remember they dont have the Holy Spirit living with them, it is the Holy Spirit dwelling with us that gives us understanding of the word. As you go out today see if you can translate the word of God into a living example of what the word tells you. Ask God to help you, a good  way to start is by being a thanbkful person in all situations.

1 Thess. 5:18  In evrything give thanks for this is the will of God
                                                               in Christ Jesus concerning you.

May God bless you richly in wisdome and understanding.

My Mother

I often dont know what to say about a person ,with my mother I can say she was a very Godly woman. She was very dedicated to her , first of all Lord, then her husband and family of 15 children. She was commited to loving and serving her family. My early memories of her was that she was a woman with humor, she could always make us laugh, even when she was punishing us.
She always thought of others, in our older years we would often come home with someone we picked up on the highway or some temporarily homeless person. There was always room at the table and she would almost always present them with a practical gift for them. She always kept an assortment of things for all ages and seasons.
When I read prov. 31 I think of her, she worked hard providing for her family, we were, I dont like to say poor, lets say we had very limited money. We all pitched in to help with the work, she canned fruits and vegetables, several hundred jars. We had a big garden and she spent a lot of time there. In the winter she would often be at her sewing machine mending or making christmas gifts.
She would often quote little phrases that  were fitting for the circumstances.  "  What one must do without no use making a fuss about".  "A friend drew a circle and left me out, Love and I with a whit to win drew a bigger circle and took them in". Many more.
Her house was clean, but not a castle,It was always a welcome place for children and  guests, even if the guests were off the highway hitchhikers. Her house was not full of stuff, it was full of love.

Prov. 31:28   Her children arise up, and call her blessed, her husband also
                                                      and he praiseth her.

Encouragement

I was thinking of my father this morning and then my mother, they are both with the Lord now.
I have many fond memories. I was thinking of the time I was with my dad as a little boy, maby 5 years old. We were fixing fence, I loved working with my dad, just to be with him. I pounded a staple in it went in crooked and didnt hold much. I remember he just put in another staple beside mine , " there" he said  that will be just fine. He never criticised, was always encouraging, allowed us to make mistakes, he helped us learn from them.  My father loved being with us as much as we loved being with him.  We probably made work for him go a little slower but I see now fathering is not about getting things done in a hurry, it is about a loving relationship. The fence is long gone but the memories of a dad whoe loved working with his children will live on for ever . He, without knowing, taught manny lessons of our heavenly fathers love for his children.
Fathers out there, especially young fathers, dont get yourself in debt  so much that you loose sight of your real purpose. You are here to glorify your Father which is in heaven, there is no better way than through your family, wife, sons, daughters, working together, learning together, building relationships, spending unhurried time with one another and with your heavenly father.

Remember, you are the best example of God to your children.

                                               Thank you and God bless.

correction

In my last post I quoted a passage, actually 2 verses from judges, I did not tell you which chapter, it is chapter 13 verse 8 and 12.
I also like the description in 1 Kings 3 verse 8 and 9.  Solomon is calling the people who God gave him charge over," This so great a people". I love it. We as dads need to see our children as , " this so great a people". They are little people which God has given you charge over, remember you are raising people for God, you need Godly wisdome for that task.

Have a wonderful day, I love you.

Fathers

I  love the concept that scripture uses as God being a father to us. I come from a family of 15. I used to say 14, one little girl died before I was born, in Gods eyes she is still part of the family. I had a loving caring father, not perfect but a God fearing man. I was blessed with 6 wonderful daughters and a very caring wife and mother of our children.
I talk a lot about fathers on the radio, we as fathers should be an example of our heavenly father to our children. In their eyes you have always existed you didnt have a beginning and you dont have an end, you provide all for them when they are in need they come to you, they cry out to you.
We as fathers need wisdome from our  Heavenly Father in order to train our children.

Judges; 8 and 12 both verses say about the same thing, Help me Lord to train this child  you have promised to us.  This is upon conception that Manoah is asking for help. This is the time to start raising your young adults. You are not raising teens or children you are raising adults for His kingdome.  To all fathers, may you seek him in your task, see children as a treasured blessing from God . Then I think they will be a blessing to you and the community you live in.

           May God richly bless you.

Voices

Luke 23:23  And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and the chief priests prevailed.
Pilate wanted to release Jesus, he was more concerned about his worldly position than what Jesus had to offer.
We as parents to our young children need to be careful as to what voices are affecting our children. The voices come through the media of all sorts and now it is in the hands of our children. Will those loud voices prevail in their life?
It will take more than a few devotionals, bible studies, church services, etc. to squelch the loud voices. The battle is real and it is beyond our power or ability as parents. I sugest what  Jehoshaphat did when he faced an impossible to beat enemy.
2Chronicles 20:12  We have no might and we dont know what to do, but our eyes are on you.

I hope and pray that we as parents and grandparents can
lead a life before our children that would speak loud
voices that would turn the eyes of our children to our
                                  source of direction,   Jesus Christ

Still learning

I still dont know what I am doing, better Logger than a Blogger, I am practicing, What I would like to accomplish is to encourage the reader to stay faithful and available to God. Ask God to give you a love for the people He has put in your pathway.
I read Isa. 55:11  My word will accomplish what I want it to acccomplish, What we need to do is get his word out in a way that will  give the listner an appetite for more. I cant think of a better way than with Love.

                I love you,
